19 Years & We’ve Learned NOTHING!   Leave a comment

Image result for image of will smith enemy of the stateBrad and I are watching Enemy of the State tonight because it just came up on Netflix and we love Will Smith.

We had forgotten how prescient this movie was. Understand, it was 1998. Clinton was president. We were still three years out from 9/11 and the Patriot Act. And, yet, this movie could have been written today. There’s one or two things that date it — video tapes and no real personal use of the internet by ordinary people — but surveillance state, spying on people, THAT is going on and this movie foresaw it. Amazing!

And amazing how we just ignored the warning and let it happen anyway. At the time, when the first scene played out, I remember thinking about the body count around the Clintons. Today, we’re seeing the Deep State go after President Trump … not that he’s not giving them ammunition.

Exactly where do we think this is going to end up? Somewhere lovely? My gut says it won’t.

How about yours?
