Chip Treinen makes some salient points, but what he fails to understand is that the regulatory process is already so enthrall to the special-interest evironmental groups that it has refused to even employ the regulatory process and allow Pebble Mine a fair science-based hearing in a neutral system.

Good news! But, of course, they’ll make another run at it.

Alaska’s Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski both voted with the majority. This is NOT a reason to support either one of them.
Mark Begich said he would vote with his party leadership if the vote was close. So much for being a constitutionalist on guns. He’s up for re-election next year, Alaskans. This is yet another reason to vote against him.
Lisa Murkowski has always been anti-gun. Her votes in the Alaska Legislature shows that. She has voted circumspectly in the Senate, but she really wants to vote for gun control. This is another reason to get her out of OUR delegation, Alaskans.
Grassley has a common sense approach to this situation. Focus on mental health databases and school security issues. Controlling people is harder than controlling guns, but it may well be more effective than burdening law-abiding citizens with unconstitutional laws.
