Have you ever read David Foster Wallace’s “Westward the Course of Empire Takes Its Way”? Talk about stuck in an airport. Postmodern but it doesn’t get any better than the airport in Kansas scene.

I haven’t. I’ll have to check it out. Of course, the airport seen in Words is merely a device to get the couple together. She wouldn’t trust him if they ran into each other in their hometown and he wouldn’t probably want to talk to her if he thought it was going to last more than a hour. There’s bad ju-ju between them. Lots of things to overcome. I prefer real conflict in my romances.
