Good News, Elizabeth Warren: Women Already Have Equal Pay | Diana Furchtgott-Roth   1 comment

America’s equal-pay-for-equal-work crusaders have already won.

At the Democratic Convention, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker lamented that American women do not earn “equal pay for equal work.” A Hillary Clinton administration, they promised, would right this wrong.

The latest U.S. Department of Labor data show that women working full-time make 81 percent of full-time men’s wages. But this figure is both inaccurate and misleading. This statistic looks only at raw averages and does not take into account factors such as education, skills, and hours worked.

  1. THERE MAY BE A CONFLICT BETWEEN GENDER PAY IN COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY GRADUATES, BUT MORE TIMES THAN NOT, IF YOU ARE NOT A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY GRADUATE, REGARDLESS OF YOUR GENDER, MOST EMPLOYERS WILL TRY THEIR LEVEL BEST TO KEEP YOU AT MINIMUM WAGE. EMPLOYERS EVERYWHERE ARE TRYING TO CUT CORNERS IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE WITH EVERYONE. JUST IN I WOULD SAY THE LAST 20 YEARS OR SO, CEO(S) HAVE BROUGHT WORKERS HERE ON VISAS, JUST SO THEY COULD HIRE THEM AT A MUCH LOWER WAGE, AND SAVING THEMSELVES SOME BONUSES AND PROFITS. MORE SO THAN A GENDER CONFLICT, WE HAVE A REFUGEE AND A PLAIN TAKE OVER CONFLICT, WHICH IN TIME WILL MANIFEST ITSELF INTO A GOOD CIVIL WAR.
