Stay Tuned for Writing Wednesday   7 comments

I’m interviewing Simon Paul Wilson, who has just announced his launch of Ghost City Girl has been delayed into November. You know how it is — life is what happens when you’re making other plans. Mirklin Wood was supposed to be out in October and, well, sometime in early 2016, I think.

    • In the case of Mirklin Wood, it will be a much better book because it was delayed, so I’m not complaining.

      • Well, a freak electrical surge wiped out 30,000 words of a WIP, forcing me to recreate it. In doing so, I found some better stories to focus on and interesting characters I’d been ignoring. I just entered the rewriting phase, which will be followed by the beta readers and proof-reading phase, but I’m getting there.

      • [ Smiles ] Here is a suggestion: Store your stories on Google Docs, where it would be safe on a cloud server.

    • Thanks. I did learn that AFTER. I had the original and a backup on a stick drive. I was in the middle of a backup when the surge happened. I’ve since created two cloud storage accounts, so it should never happen again. But it was a happy accident because it resulted in an improved the book. Sometimes things happen that aren’t good at the time, but work out for the good in the process.
