House wants to block federal wood burning regulations   Leave a comment

Good luck! Alaska is going through the same struggle right now. Not surprisingly, we are surrounded by millions of acres of forests. What most people don’t know is that we have some of the highest rates for electricity and heating fuel in the nation. Regulation, regulation, regulation – all coming from our colonial masters is the culprit. You would think that wood would be a smart choice as an alternative fuel. After all, we burn 100s of thousands of acres of firewood in wild fires every summer. Why not use that fuel to heat our homes?
Of course, the EPA doesn’t want that. You can’t control people who go out and harvest their own fuel. They might do something else with that money, like send their kids to Christian school or … well, I digress.
Tyranny comes in many forms, but one of the most pernicious is the soft tyranny of regulation “for our own good.”
